BFX Fire Apparatus
-
BFX Fire Apparatus has been manufacturing fiber composite bodies for use in the fire service for an excess of 30 years. In 1996 the company began building and supplying complete wildland type 6 engines and support fire apparatus to the various federal agencies as well as state, county, municipal and private entities.
Members of the company have been involved as support to the NFPA working groups back in the early 2000 era to the further redevelopment of the NFPA 1906 standards. The 1906 efforts at that time were to provide a true wildland application standard by defining performance standards for wildland apparatus relatable to the current engine typing classifications commonly used within the federal system and the wildland community at large.
Over the years what is now commonly known as BFX Fire has collaborated and supported the federal government agencies by working with dedicated fire service individuals from the working group at the Interagency Fire Center, Boise, ID & the US Forest Service to push forward the development of Type 6 engine applications in use today.
BFX Fire has built and delivered multi thousand wildland apparatus to various wildland application end users across the country. BFX Fire is currently engaged in a multi-year GSA Schedule contract. In addition, BFX Fire maintains a multiyear contract with Houston Galveston Area Council commonly referred to as “HGAC” providing primarily wildland related apparatus to the various government fire entities across approximately thirty states.
