Shaun Miller

Shaun P. Miller serves as an Assistant Chief for the Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM), overseeing emergency management programs across 13 counties in the Southeast Texas Region. Joining TDEM in 2017 just before Hurricane Harvey, he has since led numerous disaster responses. A U.S. Army Brigadier General in the Army Reserve, Shaun’s emergency management career began in 2000 and includes assignments in Germany, Kosovo, Iraq, and Italy, where he managed the Army’s installation programs. Before TDEM, he was the emergency manager for the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. A graduate of the U.S. Army War College with a Master of Strategic Studies, Shaun is both a Certified Emergency Manager and Texas Emergency Manager, and holds a Project Management Professional certification. He is an active member of EMAT, the Project Management Institute - Houston Chapter.
