I will review the weather parameters that led to the destructive Maui wildfires last August and discuss the wildfire potential for the remainder of the remainder of this season. I will also provide a national large wildfire potential outlook for the remainder of 2024.

Mr. Goldstein has 32 years'''' experience developing hazardous weather decision support at six National Weather Service (NWS) forecast offices including Baltimore/Washington, DC, Sacramento, CA, Reno, NV, San Diego, CA, Buffalo, NY, Lubbock TX and NWS HQ in Silver Spring, MD. He was the NOAA/NWS Liaison to FEMA H1 from 2017-2024 and held a top-secret security clearance. He retired from the company. Mr. Goldstein managed the fire weather program in Sacramento from 2006 through 2011, deploying to over a dozen wildfires in five states. He has worked as a TV meteorologist in TX and holds graduate degrees in Atmospheric Science and Emergency Management.
